  • Yes! Community engagement is a cornerstone of this project. There will be multiple opportunities to participate through open houses, surveys, and stakeholder conversations. All events and engagement opportunities will be shared on this website.

  • While Kansas Street is a major focus, the study looks holistically at Downtown Frankfort, including streetscapes, parking, open spaces, and connections to nearby amenities like Breidert Green and the Old Plank Road Trail.

  • No decisions have been made. The goal of the study is to explore a range of options and understand the benefits and tradeoffs of different concepts with community input guiding the conversation.

  • Parking is an important part of Downtown Frankfort’s success and will be carefully studied. The project team will evaluate parking supply, access, and strategies to support businesses and visitors while enhancing public space.

  • The outcome of the study will be a Downtown Urban Design Master Plan. This will outline key design guidelines, phased and prioritized projects with time frames, potential partnerships and funding opportunities, as well as benchmarks to measure success. Implementation of the plan would occur over time as funding and opportunities become available.
